Seminar with Charles Esche and Christiane Berndes

On December 3, 2009, the Platform Moderne Kunst presented an afternoon with Charles Esche and Christiane Berndes of the Van Abbemuseum for Master students specializing in modern and contemporary art. The focus was on the museum's Play Van Abbe project.

An Evening with Andrea Fraser

On October 20, 2009, the Platform Moderne Kunst presented An Evening with Andrea Fraser, a seminar during which Andrea Fraser and MA students discussed the development of Fraser's artistic practice, associated with Institutional Critique. Fraser's 2005 essay "From the Critique of Institutions to an Institution of Critique" and her 2005 reenactment of her 1991 piece May I Help You? at Orchard in New York served as points of departure for a discussion of Fraser's artistic and intellectual trajectory, her involvement in the canonization of Institutional Critique (and its naming), and her ongoing reflection on her own history and earlier works.
